About Trackday.co.nz

We are still getting everything under way. The forums are open and the paper work is all being prepared for all the legal and company side of things.

This, with your help, is hopefully the start of the largest Motorsport community. We want to help give back to those who support motorsport.

That is our aim.

We have grand plans and hope they can mostly be pulled off with your help. There are plenty of new features and areas to be opened as the forum grows. Our goal is to be compatible with as many computers and mobile phones as we can, so you can get access from most places where the internet is available.

With that we would like to offer thanks to all the volunteers that have been at all the events we have gone by and those yet to come. We cannot forget the people who have crawled over the cars and helped with all the licence tests. You guys and girls are really what all the events and competitors rely on.

Travel to meetings and events seems to take more and more time, so we provide a place to catch up on the information you may have missed and somewhere to keep others up to date. As good as the internet is, it hopefully will not replace the need for face to face meetings and you can promote them here as well.

This site allows quick access for those of you who are filled with information and will help those still learning. We want to promote the sharing of ideas, while providing a place to offer help, or ask for it, depending on how your day is going. You can share the stories when things actually work out, as well as those that do not quite come together as expected.

We hope to promote group buys for clubs and as many discounts as we can find through suppliers. Hopefully, we can help find technology that works and reduce costs and effort to run events along the way too.

We do charge for advertising, but we have a tiered system. Companies that work in the industry get the lowest rate, tier one, since they make money from our members we do not need to take their earnings and therefore your money. Any company that can prove they support or sponsor a motorsport team or event is tier two. Tier three is pretty much everyone else, other than what we deem to be annoying like any animated adverts which are tier four which we will keep to a minimum. Things that are PG or R16+ are filed under the table in a small round metal bucket for shipment by the local Council.

Event listings for Motorsport NZ Car Club events are free since they are effectively non-profit groups. That way we hope more people will hear about them and keep numbers up throughout the year. We admit it is selfish really as we want to attend, but no one said business had to be all about money all the time. If your event is not run by a non-profit group we will charge you for promoting your event. The bigger the event the more we will charge, but it does have to be motorsport related. We will also accept tickets or similar that we can give away as part of the payment. At a certain value there are laws about how the draw is to be held, so we will have to be careful about how it all works.

The Profiles section is quite open; you can list your sponsors and gives you a space to show off. We do not want to see advertising or product Q&A though. You can start topics about your team, car, driver, co-driver and crew to help promote yourselves. We hope to encourage sponsors to visit this section to help give their brand and/or products more exposure. Remember, you should list what you can offer sponsors, that is the way it works they expect something for their time and money. You should spell out what you needs are and what you will offer for it. Having been on both sides you would not believe the blatant demands many of companies will have seen from people looking for money or product for free and offering nothing or little in return. There is a lot of time wasted looking through the piles of letters and emails companies get, so you have to stand out and look as professional and together as you can. You will outdo half of the request if you simply list what exposure you have had before and what events you are committed to doing.

If you find anything that is not here and would like to see, let us know. The opposite also applies, if there is anything that you think should not be on here for whatever reason we would like to hear from you too. We cannot control all the content that our users post. If they have posted anything they should not have please let us know and we endeavour to correct it as quickly as we can.
